The Old Town Penobscot 174 is a large capacity canoe designed for touring on flat waters. A great canoe for those touring and exploring on inland waters such as lakes, canals, lochs as well as sheltered estuaries. The long waterline length glides well on smooth waters, yet the sharp bow will happily punch through short choppy wind waves often found on large inland waters. The hull features extra width over other canoe models, providing increased stability. A sharp bow and stern profile provides excellent forward tracking and even when loaded up, the Penobscot will push along at a surprising rate. This is a perfect family canoe for two adults and two children, or for those planning extended canoeing trips with plnety of camping gear.
Constructed from tough triple-payer polyethylene and outfitted with 2 x wood-webbing seats, aluminium gunwales, polyethylene decks with grab handles and an ash carrying yoke and thwart.
